Sheepskin and Shearling

Jeez its cold up here in Harrogate! Luckily we're not short of lovely warm coats, here's a few of our finest

Sheepskins have happily shed their 70's football manager/Arthur Daley image and been embraced by celebs and trendy kids alike...

                                          Here's one in our window now just like Keiras!

We've got gems like Rihannas and Alexas too.
Sheepskins should be whole, one piece skins treated and turned inside out.  Shearling just means the same but with
the fleece cropped short like RiRi's.
We're selling these beauties from around £45 and have plenty of guys sheepskins too.You could look as good as these gents..

Fairs fair

There's always some Space related activity of a weekend but this one seems extra special.  On Sat 10th Nov, our friends at Harrogate Does Vintage have another fair in the lush setting of Harrogate Theatre. These have been lots of fun and well attended in the past so well worth a look. To entice you further they've offered halfprice entry and 10% in the tearoom to any Space fans attending, so print the pic off or swing by Space on Sat morn to pick one up.

Then on the Sunday, Megan from Space and Purple Rabbit in Halifax is having one of her acclaimed fairs in Halifax.  Very well spoken of with entertainment and 50 plus quality stalls, this is another not to miss.  In the middle of all this excitement, don't forget to come in and see us at Space...

Harrogate Vintage Wedding Fair is back!

Oh yes! The Vintage Wedding Fair will be coming back to Harrogate on Sunday 30^th September with another wonderfully beautiful fair to solve all your wedding needs.

Looking for your perfect dress?

Maybe your wedding is taking inspiration from a specific era?

Or perhaps you’re looking for the ultimate finishing touch?

Whatever you desire, the Vintage Wedding Fair has it covered! With around 45 fantastic exhibitors on hand to assist you, you are guaranteed to be inspired and delighted as you make your way through the stalls of stunningly presented vintage treasures. Plus, with nearly three years’ experience bringing together the best selection of vintage wedding exhibitors around and as one of the first to ever do so, it is safe to say you are in expert hands!

So who to look out for….

Well, to name a few, Debbie Carlise will be exhibiting her hand-crafted bouquets made from vintage jewellery while Get Knotted and Fleur Adamo will be offering you beautiful flower services. James Melia will also be there showcasing his stunning wedding photography. There is even going to be a vintage ice cream van available for hire, courtesy of Sunshine Scoops as well as Better Daze with their Jukebox also available for hire, who will be serenading you with music from the 1930s to 1960s!

As for the dresses…there will be an abundance of specialist exhibitors selling a mixture of real vintage wedding dresses and vintage inspired wedding dresses from the 1930s to 1970s. Look out for Luxe Bridal, Lily and Louie,Vintage Emporium and On the Cusp Vintage. So brides, make your way to the St George Hotel, 1 Ripon Road, Harrogate, HG1 2SY – doors open from 12 noon until 5pm with entry on the door costing just £5. See you there!

Cape Crusade..

Are we the best vintage store in the country?? If you want a cape then, I'd guess at the moment, that would be a yes. We've got about a dozen in, all great quality, proper vintage and each one an item that makes the wearer feel cool and unique as well as cosy!

Heres a funky 60s wool number, no label. Great colours and really warm

A vintage nurses cape, we've no idea how to wear the 2 long ties, anyone?

A lovely camel colour felt one, probably home made in the 60s or 70s

Another wool number, Mexican, bought in Texas in the late 60s. Great ethnic patterns

Saving the best for last, here's another Mexican cape, bought in the early 70s and made of a great quality suede with detailing at the front, absolutely stunning.

 We've got plenty of others too, even kids ones, really sweet.

To pad out the blog here's a picture of a 'groovy' 60s cape.  Its surprising hard to find good pictures of cape wearers that aren't either superheroes or in Kasabian.
