We're Moving...

We're delighted to announce an opening date for our bigger, better, beautiful new Space.  We're moving all of 20ft next door but it will be a whole world away in location, quality and atmosphere!
We'll be opening the downstairs doors next Sat 14th at 10am with the new section and Major Toms Cafe bar opening a few weeks later in early Jan.

Furs galore!

As the winter season forces it's chilliness onto us this month, we reckon stocking up on your winter coats is a necessity. What better way to do it than with a gorg fur to warm your cockles?! In stock now we have a multitude of faux furs (we don't do real fur) with a variety of lengths, colours and styles. 

So why don't you rock a fur like Mary-Kate/Ashley (10 space points if you can tell, because I sure can't) Posh Spice and Kate Moss, and keep yourself warm during the snowiest winter in AGES. 

Don't worry fellas, Kanye's comes to the rescue! The coolest kid on the block is also donning the fur, so don't feel left out!

On The Radio..

I had 5 minutes of fame yesterday as Mark Forrest chatted to me about Vintage and Retro in a themed program on Radio Leeds.

Harrogate Vintage Fairs

Oh my giddy aunt! We've got 2 vintage fairs on the same day this Saturday 29th June. Not only that but they're opposite each other. Will there be cupcake wars at 10.30? Will bunting be torn down in anger? Petticoats ripped? Not very likely disappointingly, what will probably happen is that everyone will get on and the fairs will both have a few extra visitors. 
In the blue corner we have the girls from Harrogate Does Vintage at The St. George Hotel with Vintage Workshops and a Tea Room. 
Over the road in The Royal Hall is Keeley's Discover Vintage Fair  with Live music and, as part of the Harrogate Dance Festival, 'Jump in' Dance classes and Jive Lessons.
Space, as peace lovers and friends of all concerned, heartily endorses both (providing you still have time to come up to the shop of course)

More Hawaiian Shirts

Spooky! I was just thinking about a post last May about a guy bringing us a huge collection of Hawaiian shirts when I get another call offering us another collection, which they thought must be one of the best in the country.

This one's even better that last year with over 60 genuine Hawaiian shirts from Jams World and Reyn Spooner, two of the best known names amongst afficionados

The Jams World shirts in particular are works of art, with abstract flower designs, incredibly vibrant designs and remarkable attention to detail with painted buttons and the pockets pattern matched just so!

So its been a weekend of mainly ironing for me but seeing them all together in store is eye catching to say the least.  I've kept a couple of the XL's for my private stash too of course

We've got some real gems in at the moment for anyone interested in playing some vinyl.
Check out this classic Bush SRP30 from the late 50's. Its volume and tone are really lovely

Compare and contrast with this cool 70's Sharp opto-mini, rare in orange and such good condition.

And check out these 3. A quality Sony deck and an HMV turntable, both from the 70's and, my fave, a late 80's Panasonic portable record playing boombox

Sheepskin and Shearling

Jeez its cold up here in Harrogate! Luckily we're not short of lovely warm coats, here's a few of our finest

Sheepskins have happily shed their 70's football manager/Arthur Daley image and been embraced by celebs and trendy kids alike...

                                          Here's one in our window now just like Keiras!

We've got gems like Rihannas and Alexas too.
Sheepskins should be whole, one piece skins treated and turned inside out.  Shearling just means the same but with
the fleece cropped short like RiRi's.
We're selling these beauties from around £45 and have plenty of guys sheepskins too.You could look as good as these gents..
